Within the past few months I have been fortunate enough to have a few young professional men come to me for fashion advice, mostly for ideas to wear to work. I realize that most young professionals spend possibly 80% or more of their time wearing work clothes, more than any of their casual clothes, so it is VERY important to be comfortable. I also feel it is important to LIKE your work clothes, maybe even LOVE your work clothes (that is, if you do not have to wear a uniform) because of the large amount of time you spend in them. Your dress shirts should be comfortable, high quality, well tailored shirts that don't hurt your pockets and the same goes for your pants. It also doesn't hurt to lightly accessorize with sunglasses, a hat or a fabric/woven belt (that is a color other than brown or black). I did some searching and decided to post 3 of my favorite men's wear clothiers.
In shirts, I found Ledbury, mens' dress shirt makers who pride themselvs in having high quality yet low cost dress shirts. These shirts are made by the finest italian woven cotton, with collars that don't collapse and comfortable necklines that can transition from being buttoned to the top with a tie to a casual unbuttoned look at happy hour. These shirts are also made with less fabric for a more comfortable and flattering fit for any shape and size. Also, the buttons are made of "mother of pearl shells" instead of the regular boring plastic buttons on most shirts in most stores. They also come in great colors and patterns, I would dress any professional or non professional man in these shirts.
Michael Bastian is an American Designer I have been following for a few years now whose clothes I love and recently he has come out with a line of sunglasses for summer 2011. This line is special because he has partnered with Randolph Enineering (RE) who is famous for their extemely stylish, durable and classic sunglass styles. This line has a total of 15 looks but I am only posting my favorite looks of the bunch. Almost every pair is a completely different look to choose from, EVERYONE should have a pair!!!
I also found some very stylish yet inexpensive pants from Brooks Brothers, which is a label I'm sure we are all familiar with. These pants come in ALL kinds of colors from something as typical and safe as blue and black to seasonal colors like pink, green and yellow. They are light-weight Chinos made of mostly cotton for a comfortable fit and feel and in my opinion....these pants are pretty fly.
